Deep bite can be corrected either by orthodontic correction or by restorative dentistry. The correction not only includes the functionality of the teetgh but, also improves appearance of your smile. In orthodontic treatment the main aim is to intrude the lower anterior teeth and allow the posterior teeth to erupt so that the normal vertical height is maintained. In restorative dentistry our main aim is to increase the vertical height either by composite restoration or by ceramic restoration. If any missing tooth is there we can either do a bridge or an implant, so that the biting pattern is uniformly distributed among either side of the posterior teeth. In severe cases of deep bit, orthognathic surgery is also considered as treatment of choice, but the treatment depends on the extent of deep bite and also the jaw growth pattern.
